Celebration honoring Yohe donation to Colfax museum on June 23


A celebration of the life of former longtime resident Mary Yohe (1929-2013) will take place on Sunday, June 23, at the Colfax Historical Museum along with a dedication of her and her husband Donald’s remarkable collection of Colfax memorabilia, which has been donated to the Colfax Historical Society.

A casual “meet and greet” will commence at 1 p. m., with the antique collection dedication following at 1:30 p.m. Roger Yohe of Phoenix, Ariz., will speak on behalf of the family on the subject, “Collecting Colfax’s History over the Years,” utilizing an audiovisual presentation he and CHS Board Member Kevin Williams have developed for the occasion.

Don Yohe of Gilbert, Ariz., who was principal of Colfax High School from 1969 to 1986, is expected to be present along with other family members who look forward to sharing with old friends. Opportunities to tour the museum, which is located at 1720 Highway 117 S. just off Interstate 80, will follow the formal program. The event is open to the public.
